Cricket's three formats and major tournaments
Cricket runs deep in Bangladesh. From the stadium stands to the streets outside — every ball sparks conversation. Cricket betting adds another layer to that passion, turning each moment of a match into a new opportunity.
T20 is the fastest format — results come within a few hours, which keeps betting markets highly active. Every over, every wicket has a direct effect on odds. BPL, IPL and the T20 World Cup are the three tournaments that draw the most attention from Bangladeshi fans.
ODI matches run over fifty overs, so betting strategy is a little different — the opening powerplay and the final ten overs are particularly important markets. Betting activity naturally picks up around Bangladesh's matches in the ICC World Cup and bilateral series.
Test cricket is the longest and most complex format. Over five days, pitch conditions, weather and team morale all come into play, making betting a game of patience. From session-based markets to innings run predictions, there is no shortage of options in Test cricket.
Whether you are in Dhaka, Sylhet or Chattogram, you can access betting markets for the entire cricket world from a single mobile phone — that is what 11bd offers. Outside cricket, 11bd Casino has live table games and a range of slots, but this page focuses on cricket and sports betting.
Betting on football and other sports
Football Betting
Football is the second most popular sport in Bangladesh after cricket. The Premier League, La Liga, UEFA Champions League — markets for these tournaments stay active throughout the year. Because a draw is possible in football, a three-outcome (1X2) market is available, which is different from cricket. Asian Handicap markets are common in football, where the weaker team is given a goal advantage.
Other Sports
Tennis, badminton, kabaddi — betting options exist for these too. The main difference from cricket is market variety. Cricket offers separate markets for every ball, wicket and over; other sports generally do not have that level of detail. Visit the 11bd bet page to see the full range of sports betting.
7 popular betting markets
Each market works differently. Here is a brief explanation of the most commonly used ones.
Match Winner
Which team will win the match — this is the simplest bet. In T20 or ODI there are only two outcomes (Team A or Team B); in Test there are three (Team A, Team B or Draw). Example: Team A odds 1.65, Team B odds 2.30 — if you bet on Team B and it wins, there is a solid return on offer.
Toss Betting
Bet on the toss result before the match begins. The market is straightforward — just two outcomes. The toss matters a great deal on subcontinent pitches, so this market is well known among Bangladeshi bettors.
Top Batsman
Which batsman will score the most runs for their team — this market offers several options. Teams with a strong top order naturally see more competition in their top batsman market.
Total Runs Over / Under
Will the total runs in an innings be above (over) or below (under) a set number — that is this market. Pitch conditions and weather directly affect this bet. In live betting, the odds on this market shift with every over.
Multi Bet (multiple selections)
Combining bets on several matches or markets at the same time. If all selections are correct the return is much higher, but one wrong selection loses the entire bet. Example: three selections with odds of 1.50, 1.70 and 1.80 — combined odds 1.50 × 1.70 × 1.80 = 4.59 (approx.), so a ৳100 bet returns ৳459 if all win; one losing selection and the full ৳100 is gone.
Innings Wicket Market
How many of the first five wickets will a specific bowler take, or how many wickets will fall in a given powerplay — these kinds of markets are popular with experienced bettors. An understanding of how a pitch behaves is useful here.
Handicap Betting
A virtual run advantage or disadvantage is applied to even out the contest. For example, if the stronger Team A is given a -20 run handicap, 20 runs are deducted from their actual score when determining the result. Understanding which side is receiving the advantage is the key to handicap markets.
Odds in three formats — learn to read the numbers
Odds are a numerical expression of probability. Different platforms display them in three formats — decimal, fractional and American. The same price written in all three formats shows different numbers, but the meaning is identical.
Example 1 — Team A to win, bet ৳200
The same odds in three formats:
Decimal
Fractional
American
If the bet wins, total return is ৳600 (৳400 profit + ৳200 stake); if it loses, ৳200 is gone.
Example 2 — Favourite Team B, bet ৳200
Decimal
Fractional
American
American minus odds indicate how much you need to bet to win ৳100. A winning ৳200 bet returns a total of ৳250 (৳50 profit).
Decimal odds are the easiest — multiply your stake directly to get the total return. In fractional odds, the numerator is the profit and the denominator is the stake. American minus odds apply to favourites; plus odds apply to underdogs.
Live in-play — new odds on every wicket
Live betting in cricket is the most engaging experience, because the situation can change in an instant. When a wicket falls, the batting side's odds lengthen and the fielding side's shorten — this shift happens within seconds.
If the batting team has six wickets in hand with five overs to go and needs 50 runs, their chance of winning is strong — and the odds reflect that. Two more wickets in the next over and the picture changes completely.
In-play requires quick decisions. Reading how the odds move, understanding the match momentum — these are the skills that make in-play betting interesting. Keep in mind that betting is always for entertainment — no bet comes with a guaranteed win.
Some practical tips for cricket betting
Bet according to the format. What works in T20 may not work in Test. Each format has its own rhythm — check pitch reports and weather before deciding.
Build experience in one market. Starting with Match Winner or Total Runs markets is straightforward. Get comfortable with individual markets before trying multi bets.
Set a budget. Before every bet, keep in mind the most you are willing to lose. Betting is part of entertainment — it is best not to treat it as a way to earn money.
Avoid rushing in live betting. In-play odds move fast, so placing large bets on impulse is best avoided. Assess the situation and make decisions with a clear head.
Stay aware of responsible gambling. Betting is for enjoyment, not a way to escape pressure. Visit the Responsible Gaming page for more information.
Compare odds. Different odds on the same market mean different returns. Before placing a bet, confirm which odds format you are looking at — decimal, fractional or American.
